The coronavirus outbreak in China has been slowing down over the past few days but for the rest of the world, the CoVID-19 crisis is just starting to bloom.

Wuhan Centenarian Recovers

A 100-year-old Chinese man was reported to have recovered from the coronavirus and was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, according to Xinhua.

The centenarian was among people from the Wuhan branch of the Hubei Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital that were discharged after making a full recovery. Over 80 coronavirus patients have since been discharged from the said facility.

The patient, who was admitted on February 24 and also had other underlying health conditions, celebrated his 100th birthday last month.

Health providers applied multiple treatment methods for the centenarian's treatment program as he battled the virus. He went through convalescent plasma therapy as well as antiviral treatment.

China to Donate $20 Million for Global CoVID-19 Battle

On Sunday Beijing announced that the country will donate $20 million to the World Health Organization (WHO) in efforts to support the group's ongoing battle against the coronavirus.

The WHO has been ramping up efforts in calling for support in the world's coronavirus crisis that continues to batter other countries outside China, including Italy and South Korea.

The main goal is to support small and medium-sized countries with inadequate health facilities and weak public health systems so they can strengthen defense against the ongoing outbreak that has taken thousands of lives around the world.

South Korean Mayor Says Infection Toll Declined

Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin was quoted to have said that the number of new cases dropped on Saturday, which could be an indication that the figures are starting to fall and CoVID-19 containment is now more achievable.

Daegu is South Korea's hardest-hit city, with nearly 75 percent of the country's total coronavirus cases coming from the said city, particularly from a religious group cluster that has since halted mass services.

Days after the outbreak started in Daegu, the city was declared a "special care zone" by Seoul. Military troops have been disinfecting streets and other facilities across the city to hopefully prevent further community spreading.

Over Two Dozen Countries Restrict Entry from Japan

The Japanese Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that 27 countries have restricted travel or visits from Japan amid growing fears that the coronavirus will continue spreading.

According to the Japan Times, a senior ministry official said the travel bans "may spread an image that Japan is dangerous." On the other hand, some experts believe the move was a precautionary measure amid CoVID-19 fears.

Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that the country may also follow suit in imposing travel restrictions on Japan. It is worth noting that a coronavirus-infected ship that docked in Yokohama saw one of the biggest CoVID-19 cluster outbreaks last month.

Delhi Reports 3 Positive Cases

Indian chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that three people in Delhi tested positive of the novel coronavirus. According to the Times of India, the second confirmed case was in direct contact with 168 people.

The third patient saw the least interactions with others at 64, while the first confirmed patient came in contact with 105 others. All of the said people who were in contact with the three CoVID-19 patients have been placed on home-quarantine.

Other countries outside China have also seen a spike in new coronavirus cases, including the United States and Italy, with the latter announcing a lockdown on the entire Lombardy region.
