Nancy Drew episode 17 is set to arrive next month on The CW and a lot of things are coming once this episode airs. After all, the titular character's world turned upside-down after solving the most important mystery of her life. It turns out that this case was related to her and didn't even know that this would change her life forever.

Viewers can expect a lot of exciting happenings in Nancy Drew episode 17, as it would pick up the events happened in the previous episode. First, it was revealed that Lucy Sable's death wasn't a homicide. Nancy discovered Lucy's diary, and she found out the latter was pregnant and gave birth on the cliff. Her death was thought to be an apparent suicide, so Carson Drew is no longer the suspect.

The diary also confirmed the Hudsons used their influence to destroy Lucy's reputation, which could've factored in her potential suicide. Speaking to TVLine, executive producers Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor said they didn't want to glorify suicide and didn't want to make it aspirational in any way. They wanted to make Lucy's death seem "horribly tragic and very sad."

But, the biggest reveal is that Lucy's baby was Nancy. This was confirmed when Nancy had a DNA test conducted on her own hair against the hair sample found at the crime scene. Later on, Nancy's sample matched Lucy's, confirming that the baby to which Lucy gave birth was Nancy. The diary explained Lucy had gotten close with the Drews and asked them to keep her child.

The EPs teased that in Nancy Drew episode 17 will get a little clarity regarding Nancy's father, with many believing its Ryan. As for what's next for Nancy and Carson's relationship, the next episodes will be "very rough" for both of them. Nancy will try to piece her identity -- both internally and externally, while Carson is going to be accountable for the mistakes he made.

According to the EPs, they have set a precedent on the series where viewers never know when the case will get solved. They said that it's not always the finale as it sometimes comes earlier than that, and then a whole new case will begin. So, although the mystery surrounding Lucy's death has been solved, viewers can expect new mysteries in the future of the series.

Meanwhile, some reports suggest that Nancy Drew episode 17 will air on Wednesday night, Apr. 8, on The CW.
