TikTok has reassured the United States government that it will refrain from using Chinese moderators within the jurisdiction. The company has decided on the measure as its compliance with the US government's plans for establishing a transparency center for the mobile application. The social media company also clarified that it would stop using China-based moderators for screening content globally.

Social media company TikTok moved to observe region-oriented moderators instead of using Chinese services in other territories. The company claimed that it would also censor political statements and other declarations that go against the Chinese government. TikTok claimed that this would promote cultural understanding especially when its existing moderators would speak relevant languages with the society that they would moderate.

According to Engadget, TikTok was compelled by US politicians and regulators to observe transparency of their operations. The country allegedly doubted the censorship process of TikTok and urged the latter to prove that it does not pose a security threat to the US.

TikTok then reduced the involvement of China-based staff in the delivery of its services in the US and the rest of the world. Furthermore, US officials were reported to be less worried that the Chinese Communist Party has control over TikTok and that it hands over data to the Chinese government.

In other news, Forbes reported that the World Health Organization became the most significant social media influencer in the world today. The organization was reported to focus its public announcements and posts on Twitter and TikTok, the world's leading social media platforms today.

The report claimed that WHO posted its first video on the TikTok platform 16 days ago and that it had acquired 10.3 million viewers in that period.

The report claimed that TikTok has been regarded as the most sought-after social media platform by teenagers and young adults in recent years. It was further revealed that the American population has prompted to use the platform in spreading awareness about the public health crisis globally.

According to Gizmodo, the social media platform has been under frequent scrutiny by the US government over its parent company, Beijing-based Bytedance. The US government allegedly found that the social media platform was being used for the benefit of the Chinese government's interest despite Bytedance repeatedly denying said allegations.

To rectify the allegations, TikTok then decided to distance its operations away from Chinese services and the rest of its business from Chinese involvement in the US.
