The coronavirus pandemic forced football around the world on hiatus, and according to Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, he misses the games and the competition. The Brazilian is back home and doing his training while hoping that the suspended football season will restart soon. Neymar admitted the long wait is making him anxious.

It appeared that the South American superstar would need to deal with his anxiety for a couple of months more. While UEFA has indicated that domestic campaigns in Europe must be completed by the end of July, there is no assurance that players will be back on the pitch soon as the spread of the coronavirus is yet to be controlled.

In France, AS reported that Ligue 1 officials have decided to resume the holding of the games in June, possibly on the 17th of the month. The target is to wrap up the season on July 25, which aligns with the guidelines issued by UEFA.

If the plan gets implemented as intended, the schedule laid out by Ligue 1 will synch with the intention by UEFA to hold the finals of the Champions League and Europa League in August.

Meanwhile, the option available for Neymar is to wait for the call for him to return to France, which by the way, is one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 spread. The former Barca star said the forced vacation is taking its toll on him.

"Not knowing when I can return gives me anxiety. I really miss playing, competing, to be in the club environment with my PSG teammates," Goal reported the PSG striker as saying.

Despite the worry, the player remains optimistic. He added: "I really miss football. I'm sure the fans also want to see everyone back on the pitch as soon as possible. I hope the decision comes out as soon as possible."

Neymar shared on his blog his training for competitive football was not disrupted at all. He is following a strict training regime that hopefully will prepare him when game hostilities start again.

"The condominium has a large space for cycling, a football field, a sports hall and equipment that can be used, as long as the rules of social distance are respected," Neymar revealed.

He assured fans as well that his match fitness is maintained with a big help coming from his long-time trainer Ricardo Rosa, whom he described as "my partner in football and in life."

"His work is very important in my career ... We have worked together for many years, so he knows exactly the type of work I need to do to be in the best possible condition on a matchday," the PSG star further explained.
