Melania Trump just recently celebrated her 50th birthday. Unfortunately, she had to celebrate her birthday on a much simpler note due to the pandemic crisis.
As reported, the First Lady marked her special day with her family inside the White House. Given the social distancing measures imposed in the United States, it was logical why the celebration had to be done indoors.
According to Metro UK, the East Wing's new chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham confirmed that Melania Trump celebrated her day with her family. It remains unknown, however, which family members were present that day.
Regardless, the publication stated that Melania Trump received several warm greetings and messages from her family and supporters. As noted, her husband, Donald Trump took his greetings to social media and even deemed her as the nation's "great First Lady."
The day after her birthday, the now-50-year-old Melania posted a message on her Twitter account to thank everyone who took the time to share their greetings and "wonderful birthday wishes." Aside from giving appreciation and gratitude, she also said that her "heart" is with all of the Americans who have "missed" their celebrations, whether birthdays or special occasions. She then ended the post with a hopeful message by saying that she looks "forward" to the day when everyone can all be "together again."
Despite the warm message, Queerty claimed that Melania Trump was "bummed" that she did not get a birthday party this year. It was also pointed out that many netizens criticized her for the tweet that she sent the day after her birthday.
It remains unclear, though, if the First Lady was truly "bummed" or sad that she was not able to have a party or huge celebration. But, it was apparent that several netizens took the time to slam and criticize her on social media.
Based on her post, several individuals pointed out that over "55,000 Americans" can no longer celebrate their birthdays because they have already died due to the novel coronavirus. It was then stated that this was all because of her "incompetent" and "racist" husband, Donald Trump.
Aside from blaming Melania Trump's husband, some netizens also posted revealing photos of the First Lady. It has appeared that these were meant to make fun of her and her post.
While there were a lot of criticisms, there were also individuals who genuinely shared their greetings and wishes to the First Lady. Some even described her as the "best First Lady" of the United States, and some called her "elegant" and "amazing."
