Electronic Arts and BioWare are still smarting from the disappointment that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" left, a reason why they felt it would be best to pass off on another installment for now. But of course, some are still hoping to see another "Mass Effect" chapter and it appears one is indeed coming. However, it will not be a new one in terms of plot but a throwback of sorts.

According to a Venturebeat reporter, EA mentioned during an earnings call that a "Mass Effect Trilogy" is indeed in the works. The only problem with that claim is that a reliable source was not cited to support it. Hence, the claim remains a rumor but something worth monitoring.

Speaking of rumors, a word about a possible "Mass Effect Trilogy" has already been making rounds. No less than BioWare has been issuing some cryptic messages on social media, using the hashtag "MassRelays." Looking at it closer, it ended up referring to a music series and not the game. Regardless, the fact that it comes from the people behind "Mass Effect" technically deems it something to ponder on.

But like most, it would be best to wait until EA or BioWare comes out with an official announcement. The next couple of months should be interesting with EA confirming that "Mass Effect Trilogy" will be coming out this Fiscal Year. Hence, there is a chance that the said HD remastered game could be out by March 2021 at the latest.

As far as what to expect, better performance with improved graphics should be something worth checking out. But overall, this remains a short-term fix to make sure that "Mass Effect" gamers continue to enjoy the game.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" simply failed to live up to its hype. Most complained about bugs, one of the reasons why the game garnered poor ratings. Quests and missions were disappointing, and most felt that the game was generally boring. Patches and updates were released to try and remedy the situation but failed.

Hence, a fourth installment for "Mass Effect" may take some time to see - assuming there is one to wait for. Hence, all folks can do right now is play the three installments. Once the HD remastered "Mass Effect Trilogy comes out, most may try but probably out of curiosity to see the difference in quality. As far as new storylines, EA and BioWare don't appear to be anywhere near having one for now.
