Meghan Markle and Prince Harry apparently made attempts to influence a book author, Lady Colin Campbell, who has written a tell-all book about the Sussexes. Meghan And Harry: The Real Story is reportedly coming out in June, a few months ahead of the other tell-all book Finding Freedom.
Campbell revealed in an interview in a YouTube channel that Prince Harry and Meghan, allegedly, fed information to her as she was writing the couple's biography. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex apparently tried to "influence the narrative" but Campbell said she didn't bite to some of it. She also said that the royals have not learned their lesson when it comes to stories about them.
The aristocrat also wrote a book in 1992 about Princess Diana. Campbell said that Prince Harry's mother also attempted to influence the narrative of Diana in Private so that her version of the story will be the theme of the book.
Campbell said that like Princess Diana, the Sussexes are misjudging the people in wanting the readers to "fall for a version [of their story] that is truly incredible." The author said that she's aware there are attempts from Meghan to get the competing book, Finding Freedom, released ahead of The Real Story.
Finding Freedom is written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand. These royal journalists apparently had the go signal and consent from Prince Harry and Meghan. However, sources told The Sun that Prince Harry and Meghan are not interested in either books, despite reports. Scobie and Durand were, reportedly, not able to interview the Sussex couple for their book even if they were given access to shadow Prince Harry and Meghan.
Meanwhile, Campbell is a known critic of Meghan and has branded her efforts as "cheap and vulgar." The author said that Meghan desperately behaves like an A-lister and not a royal. The Duchess of Sussex apparently wants fame, which is far from what the royals want.
Campbell also said that Meghan would clash with Princess Diana, if she was still alive today. The royal author believes the two women in Prince Harry's life will be in conflict with each other because of their similarities in personalities.
Meanwhile, the source of Meghan And Harry: The Real Story are some of the members of the Markle family. Campbell also got help from her sons, Dimitri and Michael, for the research. The two apparently starred in a reality TV show with Meghan's nephew, Tyler Dooley.
