The final COVID-19 patient of Dubai Field Hospital in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was transported by Tesla Model X last Jun 7. At the time of this publication, there are over 11.8 million people all over the world who were infected by the coronavirus. With pharmaceutical companies racing against time to discover a vaccine or cure, the recovery of the last patient in a makeshift hospital in Dubai is a momentous event.

The patient is Hiroaki Fujita; a Japanese diagnosed with novel coronavirus in the early part of 2020. He left the hospital after several weeks of battling and finally defeating the virus. Fujita was greeted with applause and cheers from doctors, nurses, and health workers. The Japanese fully recovered from the deadly illness brought by the virus, which has killed over half a million people around the globe.

Fujita left Dubai Field Hospital onboard the Tesla Model X. The fully recovered patient urged everyone to take a safer way. He shared that he felt good that he is going out of the hospital. Tesla has played a crucial role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the late part of Mar and early part of Apr 2020. Tesla CEO Elon Musk volunteered to develop FDA-approved ventilators for hospitals needing the essential equipment. The company also offered the device and the shipping cost for free as long as the hospitals are within Tesla's delivery regions.

On his Twitter account, the Tesla CEO volunteered to help but also shared that he has some free medical equipment conditions. He said that it must be immediately needed by patients and not stored in a warehouse.

With electric vehicle parts, Tesla started building the ventilators. It worked with Medtronic, a medical supply company, and even offered the Giga New York solar production plant for the project. Tesla was one of the first companies to shut down its Shanghai facility when the novel coronavirus hit the region.

The US electric vehicle maker has secured the necessary government documentation for its Gigafactory in Europe. While the construction is facing a lot of criticisms from nature conservation and protection affiliated groups, it seems that the Gigafactory in Berlin has received the nod. Analysts earlier said that the Berlin facility might finish in a much shorter time compared to the Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai.
