Meghan Markle is still not interested in patching things up with her father, Thomas Markle, after two years of estrangement. The Duchess of Sussex has, reportedly, been getting letters from her dad but these have "remained unopened."

A source revealed to Us Weekly that Meghan Markle's father has been sending his letters "to the house," referring to the Beverly Hills mansion where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have relocated. Thomas lives in Mexico but tried reaching out to Meghan again after he learned that she's back in the U.S.

Meghan's relationship with Thomas became strained just before her royal wedding to Prince Harry. Her father staged a paparazzi shoot despite a warning from his soon-to-be royal son-in-law that "going public" will not do him or the royal family any good.

Because of this incident, Thomas, who is in his '70s, apparently, suffered a heart attack was not able to walk his daughter down the aisle. Their relationship has soured since.

According to royal biographer and the founder of True Royalty TV, Nick Bullen, Meghan tried to fix her relationship with Thomas at the beginning of their misunderstanding. However, Thomas and Meghan's half-sister, Samantha Markle, chose to speak with the press and aired out their family drama in public. Bullen assessed that this estrangement is not going to be mended anytime soon.

Legal documents sourced by TMZ of Meghan's lawsuit against an outfit of the British tabloid press showed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still attempted to get in touch with Thomas after his paparazzi stunt and hospitalization. Thomas has been cited in the lawsuit because he allowed Mail on Sunday to publish parts of Meghan's letter meant only for him.  His daughter felt that this was a breach of her privacy, which the tabloid used as fodder to publish negative stories about her.

Thomas, however, laments in the press that he still wants to see his daughter or meet his grandson, Archie Harrison, before he dies. He claimed that he has been trying to make contact but has been shunned by the Sussexes.

But, Meghan's father continues to speak to the press about them; thus, worsening their broken relationship. In January, when the Sussex pair decided to step back from their royal roles, Thomas said that his daughter and son-in-law embarrassed and hurt the Queen

Bullen said that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's focus is now fixed on Archie and their new life in Los Angeles. Patching things up with the duchess' side of the family is, apparently, down on their list of priorities.
