Tom Cruise has established his name in Hollywood over the years. But a tabloid claimed Hollywood is now turning against the A-list actor after his previous co-stars have been exposing their unforgettable experiences working with Cruise.

Life & Style published a story this week claiming that movie industry veterans are turning their backs on Cruise because of his behavior. The tabloid quoted Thandie Newton in its headline suggesting that the actor was "a nightmare" to work with.

It also cited a story from Rob Lowe, Cruise's co-star in the 1983 coming-of-age movie The Outsiders. Lowe said in a recent interview that the Mission: Impossible actor "went ballistic" after learning he and Rob would be sharing a hotel room during their audition for The Outsiders.

Gossip Cop clarified that Life & Style took both interviews out of context. Newton and Lowe indeed talked about their experiences with Cruise but they didn't mean it was an entirely bad one.

During an interview for Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Lowe recalled the time that they were about to audition for The Outsiders in New York City. Lowe said Cruise went ballistic after finding out that they would be sharing a hotel room.

The Parks and Recreation actor said at that instance, he saw Cruise's star power. What Lowe meant by that was Tom Cruise is one of those people who exudes power early on in their career and that very element propelled them to where they are now today.

As for Thandie Newton's interview with Vulture, she recalled filming a not well-written scene alongside Cruise in Mission: Impossible 2. When Newton said "he's a nightmare", she was referring to that specific night of filming and not to his co-star.

Newton also admitted in the interview that Cruise is a "very dominant individual" and yet he did his best to be nice to everyone on set. The Westword actress explained that Cruise was under a lot of pressure at the time since he felt responsible for everything on the set. Newton added that director John Woo wasn't much of a help in that particular scene she was filming with the Top Gun actor since the filmmaker already decided at the beginning of the production that "he didn't speak English."
