Princess Anne claims she doesn't have Netflix so she has not seen The Crown. She may have hinted in an interview, however, that she has gleaned through a few episodes because she told the interviewer that the early seasons "were quite interesting."

According to Daily Mail, Princess Anne was being interviewed for the documentary meant for her 70th birthday on Aug. 15. The talk shifted to the Netflix series about the royal family since her profile is, now, a big part of the story in the third and fourth season.

The Crown season 3 introduced a grown-up character of Princess Anne, played by Erin Doherty. The actress has been noted by critics as the show's "indisputable standout."

Princess Anne learned that Doherty said, in a press interview, it takes two hours to do her hair and makeup to get the royal's exact look. The princess was surprised by Doherty's remark since she said it only takes her 15 minutes to do her hair without any help from a hairdresser. The royal scoffed and said that she doesn't have the luxury of time to set aside two hours just for her hair.

The Princess Royal also said that while the early seasons of The Crown were interesting, a series where the characters are actually still alive is "a dangerous thing to do." Doherty, on the other hand, said that she finds it fascinating to play Princess Anne because she doesn't faff and always speaks the truth.

In the Netflix series, viewers saw that Princess Anne doesn't mince words or hold back what she's truly thinking and feeling. In real life, the Princess Royal is known for her no-nonsense approach to life.

Meanwhile, Princess Anne was supposed to have an unveiling ceremony and public viewing of her royal sculpture to mark her birthday. The event, however, was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Standard.

Instead, fans of the Princess Royal may be able to get a glimpse of the sculpture in the ITV documentary, Princess Royal: Anne at 70.  It will feature the moments she worked with the sculpture artist Frances Segelman, who has also done the bust of the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth.

Segelman said that she was looking forward to sculpting Princess Anne's image. She especially admires that the Princess Royal is such a hard-working member of the royal family who doesn't seek out the publicity.
