Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson's relationship is now over. After almost ten months of dating and often displaying major PDA, fans are now asking what went wrong.

Allegedly, Cyrus and Simpson had differents reasons on how they wanted to end things between them. A source told In Touch Liam Hemsworth's ex-wife initiated the split, and her now-former boyfriend did not want the breakup. But, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter called the shots.

The insider continued that "nothing major" happened in their relationship. There was no third party, and it only "ran its course."

Cyrus used to have a lot of fun with Simpson, but she, reportedly, knew it was the time to part ways. Anyhow, they might maintain their relationship as good friends.

A different insider told E! News that the ex-couple were heading in different directions. The 23-year-old Australian singer, allegedly, felt he was "in a different place and wanted to be single."

Cyrus, alternatively, started to be busy, working on her new music, which, reportedly, caused their relationship to end. Despite what happened, there was no bad blood between them, and they still had respect for each other.

Just like Simpson, the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker also wanted to be single for a while. Allegedly, her ex started to be interested in "partying" and being with his friends, which Cyrus did not feel of doing today.

She was more focused on herself and her new music, "Midnight Sky." She had always been the free spirit, so it might be better for her to go solo for now.

Anyhow, not so many people knew that they already broke up, but they remained to be good friends and in touch.

She even said the same thing on her Instagram Live. Cyrus celebrated the release of her latest song and revealed she would continue hanging out with Simpson despite their breakup because that was what friends do.

So, The Last Song star asked everyone not to make it a big drama if she would go or eat pizza with him. She continued they had been friends for ten years, and they would continue to be.

Cyrus confirmed their split on Instagram after the news broke on Friday, Aug. 14. She talked about the reports that she and Cody had broken up, which was confirmed by a "reliable source."

She explained no one was more reliable in a relationship except to the couple who was involved. She then went on to say that she and Simpson had split up, explaining, "two halves could not make a whole." Cyrus added they were now working on themselves to be the people they wanted to be.
