Kevin Hart broke his silence over his decision to defend Ellen DeGeneres and Nick Cannon amid the controversies continuously plaguing the two. In his lengthy statement, the 41-year-old comedian talked about friendship, which he believed was getting lost in the entertainment business.

Hart told Deadline his friendship with DeGeneres and Cannon was real, so he would be adamant about speaking on their behalf. He knew what kind of people they were, but cleared he could only talk of his own experiences. He had no intention to shut down other people's experiences with them.

Hart understood how dark what DeGeneres and Cannon were going through. He knew how lonely it could be, knowing some people would turn their back on them.

So, for someone he loved and was close to his heart, he wanted to show his support. The Ride Along star assured this would also apply to everyone he considered a friend.

Although he admitted not everyone got the same conversation and feeling from him, he promised he was serious when he expressed it. Hart went on to say he knew DeGeneres and Cannon for years that he had been around them, so he could attest that they were two of the most amazing people he knew.

Earlier this month, Hart showed his support to DeGeneres after The Ellen DeGeneres Show went under investigation following several allegations against its alleged toxic work environment. In a post on InstagramThe Upside star said the 62-year-old host had been kind to his family.

He even expressed his "for life" love for the veteran comedian. Sharing a photo of them from the set of Ellen, he added it was crazy to see his friend went through this controversy in public.

Hart revealed he had known DeGeneres for years, and he could honestly say that she's one of the "dopest people" on the planet. Aside from his family, Portia de Rossi's wife also treated his team with "love and respect" from the very beginning.

He, then, condemned the backlash DeGeneres had been experiencing. He called out the internet universe for becoming a "crazy world of negativity," accusing other people of loving to see others' downfall.

It was a sad thing for Hart, asking since when did everyone get to that negativity. Hence, he promised to stand by the ones he knew and loved as he looked forward to the future where people would once again love each other.
