Prince Andrew might not be worried that his friend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is in trial for sex trafficking, will inform on him to the FBI. A friend of Maxwell claimed that she's fiercely loyal and will never give up the Duke of York.

The Sun spoke with Christopher Mason, who knew Maxwell since 1989, and said that the British socialite will always have Prince Andrew's back. Mason believes that she will protect the Duke of York from potential prosecution to the very end.

Maxwell is, currently, in prison without bail for sex trafficking. She, allegedly, helped the pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, in grooming young women as sex slaves and abused them in the process. Epstein, however, can no longer be tried in court because he took his own life in prison over a year ago. Prince Andrew, on the other hand, is tied to the scandal because a woman, Virginia Giuffre, came forward to say that she was gifted as a sex slave by Epstein to the duke.

Mason, who is a journalist, said that he knew from the very beginning that Maxwell and Epstein were very powerful people in the U.S. He met Prince Andrew while the royal had been staying at Epstein's house in New York. Mason said that Epstein was the type of person who needed influential people because he was an ambitious man.

But, how close were Prince Andrew and Maxwell? Prince Andrew became friends with Maxwell in college and they bonded because the royal sympathized with her when she lost her father. She was the daughter of the disgraced billionaire media proprietor Robert Maxwell. When he died, Maxwell became an outcast in British social circles but Prince Andrew stuck with her as a friend and made her popular in U.S. social circles.

The Duke of York, apparently, tried to include Maxwell at exclusive parties. It was recently revealed that he snuck her into one British Film event in Los Angeles, where Steven Spielberg was a special guest.

According to one attendee, Maxwell sat on the table with the British Consulate-General and she also mingled with celebrities like Denise Richards and Jessica Capshaw. No one realized that she came to the party without an invitation as Prince Andrew was her ticket inside.  When asked about this revelation, a source from Buckingham Palace apparently said the event was over 20 years ago and will not comment on the report.
