Donald Trump and Barack Obama do not seemingly share anything in common. But, when it comes to their kids, they surprisingly share similar thoughts, especially on matters relating to safety and security.

The U.S. President previously sat down in an interview with CBS' Margaret Brennan. They talked about American football and Barron Trump, ahead of the Super Bowl last year, according to the Daily Express.

Reports recalled that Melania Trump revealed about her son's love for sports. In referencing the statements, Brennan asked Barron's father whether he will allow his son to play football.

Donald Trump "confessed" and shared his concerns about the dangers of playing the sport. He explained that, if his youngest son would want to play, then, he would allow it, adding, however, that he would not "steer" him in that direction. Nevertheless, he said that it will be "hard" for him to let Barron Trump play American football.

The U.S. President deemed the sport "dangerous" and "tough." Although the equipment has, reportedly, gotten better today, he countered that "it has not solved the problem." In the end, he revealed that he hates to say these things about football because he loves to watch the games, noting that the NFL is a "great product."

Surprisingly, Donald Trump's predecessor has similar thoughts about American football. Despite being a "fan of the NFL," Barack Obama admitted that he would not let his "hypothetical son" play the sport, according to CBS Sports.

The former U.S. President disclosed his thoughts to the New Yorker about six years ago. In his statements, he even, reportedly, compared the sport to smoking.

The publication said that Obama sees NFL players and smokers as the same. He believes that the individuals who do either of the two "understand the risks" behind them. But, just like the incumbent president, he said that he is a "big football fan."

In other related news, Donald Trump "ridiculed" the National Basketball Association after several players decided to "boycott" the postseason games, according to The Indian Express. This, reportedly, comes after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin, leading six NBA teams to withdraw from the games to protest.

The U.S. President said that the league is becoming more like a "political organization," adding that it is not a "good thing." He said, however, that his knowledge about the protests within the league is very little. Nevertheless, he said that the ratings have gone worse because people have grown tired of it.
