Prince Harry is making a fresh start in the U.S. with Meghan Markle and their son, Archie. While the Duke of Sussex had only been away from the U.K. for more or less six months, his friend, reportedly, said that he has changed from the moment he started dating the former actress.
According to the book Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Prince Harry and his close pal Tom “Skippy” Inskip had a fallout when the latter voiced his concerns regarding how fast his friend and Meghan Markle’s relationship was going. The Duke of Sussex, reportedly, banished Skippy from his tight-knit group after the incident.
"Not everyone felt as sure of this match as Harry did. A month after his own wedding, Skippy sat down with his childhood friend to voice a concern: Harry and Meghan were moving too quickly,” the authors wrote.
While Prince Harry invited Skippy on his wedding day with Meghan Markle, his friend didn’t make the cut to the private evening reception. The celebration was packed with A-list celebrities such as George and Amal Clooney.
Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote that Skippy felt Prince Harry was taken in by Hollywood and chose it over his old friends. The day after the royal wedding, the authors claimed that Skippy told friends that the former Suit star “has changed Harry too much.” He then reportedly said that they have lost him.
Skippy was not the only one who reached out to Prince Harry to tell him to slow things down with Meghan Markle. Prince William, reportedly, did the same thing before the wedding.
While Prince William only meant well, Prince Harry didn’t take it well as he saw it as criticism. The Duke of Sussex was, also, upset that he felt his older brother was not being supportive of his relationship with Meghan Markle.
Speculations about Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud started in February 2019, and events after that ignited the rumors even more. The Sussexes, suddenly, removed themselves from their joint foundation with the Cambridges, which seemingly confirmed the rift between the famous couples.
Late last year, Prince Harry finally addressed the status of his relationship with Prince William. The Duke of Sussex explained that he and his brother are “on different paths” now, but assured everyone that they will always love and support each other.
