Meghan Markle is reportedly an avid reader of erotic fiction and counts the novels of French-Cuban-American writer Anais Nin as her favorite.

Reports revealed that the Duchess of Sussex immensely enjoyed Nin's autobiography, The Four-Chambered Heart, and had a secret email address referencing this novel even before she started dating Prince Harry in 2016. This book, published in 1950, delves on explosive and steamy scenes involving three people.

The source said that Meghan used the saucy email address, inspired by Nin, for ages. Apparently, Meghan does not think that someone would be able to make the connection.

The source further said that Meghan loves the "arty way" Nin wrote her stories. Her novels are quite explicit, especially for readers during the 1930s and 1940s, but the Duchess of Sussex feels Nin's stories are liberating. She views Nin as a feminist icon.

Critics hailed Nin, who died in 1977 at 73 years old, as one of the best female erotica writers. She became a prominent female novelist in modern Western literature.

The author's erotic short stories, Little Birds, will get a series adaptation on Sky Atlantic, according to The Sun. The show has cast Juno Temple and Hugh Skinner in the leads. Incidentally, Skinner played Prince William in the spoof series The Windsors

Meanwhile, Meghan had a knack for writing herself and thought of becoming a journalist before she ended up in acting. Writing was a way for her to use her creativity and to channel her frustrations. She kept a lifestyle blog, The Tig, for two years but  then she had to shut this down when things turned serious with Prince Harry.

Royal commentator Chris Ship thinks that Meghan will come up with a tell-all book one day, so she could capitalize on her royal profile. Ship said that there will be huge interest in Meghan's story, if she does pursue the autobiography.

However, aristocrat Julie Montagu said in the documentary Royals: A Family in Crisis that a tell-all book will cause a huge upset for the Queen. Though it will be a lucrative venture, insiders said that Prince Harry will likely not allow his wife to publish such a personal story out of respect for the royal family and Queen Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry have recently signed a deal to produce shows and films for the streaming platform Netflix. It remains to be seen if the couple will also work on the creative side of the production.
