Apple TV+ subscribers can still enjoy three more months of Apple TV+ for free after Apple announces the extension of free trial subscriptions until February.

Subscribers of Apple TV+ have much to celebrate as Apple announces it is extending the service's free trial period for three more months. This allows subscribers to enjoy the service until February of next year, according to Canadian blogger and YouTube content creator, Rene Ritchie.

The free trial period, as announced by the Cupertino-based tech giant, extends the one-year-long free trial periods of those who bought a device starting September 2019 and signed up for a subscription when Apple TV+ launched last November 1, 2019. For Apple TV+ subscribers who had their free trial periods set to expire by the end of October, Apple said it is planning to extend the expiration date of their free access for three more months or until February.

For instance, you signed up for the free year during the service's launch, you still have three more months of free access to Apple TV+, or an extended free trial period that may last until the end of February, based on your subscription date. If your date of subscription was on November 1, 2019, your free trial period is extended until February 1, 2021, but if your sign-up date was on November 15, 2019, your free access to Apple TV+ is extended until February 15, 2021.

For those who bought an annual plan or monthly plan, Apple said they will receive credits worth $4.99 for each month until March or through February. According to 9to5Mac, you can use the credits you receive as a paying Apple TV+ subscriber to purchase anything from the App Store or the iTunes store. This is the equivalent deal provided to paying subscribers in place of the free trial extension received by subscribers who signed up in November of 2019, and are now eligible for free access to Apple TV+ for three more months or until February next year, depending on their date of subscription.

Apple did not provide any explanation on why it decided to extend its Apple TV+ free trial for three more months, allowing subscribers who signed up during the service's launch to enjoy it for free until February. Nevertheless, the announcement is a welcome development for those who expect their Apple TV+ subscriptions to end on November 1, and also a nice gift for subscribers who pay for Apple TV+. It may take some time for the free months of subscription service to roll out and users may not immediately see any changes to their Apple TV+ plan expiration dates. As for those who purchased a monthly or annual plan, Apple said their monthly credits will be automatically applied with no action needed on the part of the subscriber.
