Prince William and Prince Harry are reportedly closely following the developments of BBC's reopening into the investigation of Princess Diana's Panorama interview with Martin Bashir 25 years ago. New revelations alleged that Bashir apparently convinced the Princess of Wales to open up to him by producing fake evidence of Palace traitors around her.

Sources told royal reporter Katie Nicholl of Vanity Fair that Prince William and Harry are keeping tabs of these latest revelations with keen interest. BBC director-general Tim Davie released a statement to inform the British public that they will pursue the truth behind these latest allegations.

Simone Simmons, a friend of Princess Diana, shared that Prince William was significantly affected and "livid" when his mother decided to talk to Bashir. The young prince, then 13 years old, was teased in school and called "all sorts of names" after his mother told the world of the state of her marriage to Prince Charles and their affairs with other people.

Simmons said she it was perhaps the one time she saw Prince William furious at his mother. Meanwhile, Princess Diana was left distraught after that interview because of her eldest son's reaction.

Princess Diana's brother, Earl Charles Spencer, recently revealed the notes he took down when Bashir met with him and his sister in September 1995 or two months before the interview aired. Though he had his hesitation about proceeding with the deal with the BBC journalist, Princess Diana continued to be in touch with Bashir until they had the historic sit-down for Panorama.

Earl Spencer decided to speak up again after learning two weeks ago that there was likely a cover-up into the first investigation in 1996. BBC previously looked into how Bashir and Panorama staff conducted themselves into scoring the scoop of the century, per Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, as Princess Diana and her tragic marriage to Prince Charles is back in the headlines again, The Crown season 4, which will launch this November, will also highlight their fairy tale romance that ended in divorce after 10 years. Netflix just released a photo of young Prince William and Harry, who will briefly appear in the royal drama series.

Lucas Barber Grant has been cast as young William while Arran Tinker is young Harry. Emma Corrin plays the role of Princess Diana alongside Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles.
