President Donald Trump's legal adviser Jenna Ellis has tested positive for COVID - adding to fears there might be a wider outbreak in the White House, The Independent reported Wednesday.

Ellis is the latest Trump official to be diagnosed with the virus. Attorney Rudy Giuliani was also infected.

Ellis, 36, has spent the past two weeks traveling state to state with the 76-year old Giuliani. The two didn't wear face covering.

She attended a Christmas party in the East Wing on Friday, Axios which reported Ellis' COVID diagnosis, said. There are now fears of a "super spreader event" tracing back to the White House.

Ellis is a constitutional legal counsel but has never appeared in federal, district or circuit courts, a national database of federal cases shows.

She has played down the coronavirus pandemic which has so far claimed the lives of 283,845 people in the U.S. So far, some 60 people within Trump's administration have been reported to have caught the virus since October.

Ellis said "there's no pandemic" and retweeted an article from The Gateway Pundit that undermined the disease as identical to the common flu.

She didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
