Apple's new mini LED iPad Pro is reportedly set for an early launch this year.

It is full speed ahead for Apple's new iPad Pro with its innovative mini LED display. A DigiTimes report reveals that Apple is busy working on the transition of some of its devices to mini LED displays. The report also indicates that the new iPad Pro, which is set for release early this year, is among the first to feature the mini LED display. This simply means that Apple's mini LED iPad Pro is on track and ready for launch.

The DigiTimes report, while it indicated the device is on track for an early launch, did not specify as to the exact date of Apple's 12.9-inch mini LED iPad Pro release, although it did mention that it could happen in the first quarter of 2021. The report focused more on the effort of the Cupertino tech giant to diversify the company's supply chain for touch panels and displays.

Chinese panel producer BOE reportedly secured approval to supply Apple with OLED screens for its iPhone lineup, while the task of producing touch models for the new mini LED iPad Pro fell on the shoulders of another Apple supplier, GIS. Early reports say that Apple's mini LED iPad Pro is on track for launch within the first few months of 2021.

This is not the first time talks about Apple's mini LED iPad Pro on track for an early release, presumably the first quarter of 2021, surfaced. Since last year, rumors were rife about Apple's mini LED technology debuting with a new iPad Pro set for launch in the early months of 2021. While the device and its technology were already the subject of much speculation, the recent news corroborates the rumors that Apple's mini LED transition is on schedule.

Industry observers also noted that the reports continue to state Apple's mini LED transition will begin with its 12.9-inch iPad Pro. This suggests that the 11-inch iPad Pro might continue using LCD panels at the moment, though there is no confirmation on the matter. What is seemingly nearer to the fact is that Apple's mini LED iPad Pro is on track for an early release this year, perhaps in the first quarter of 2021. As regards the information on when the 11-inch iPad Pro enter the mini LED transition phase, there appears to be no word on such.

To add more credence to talks about the scheduled release of Apple's mini LED iPad Pro, which is reportedly on track for launch, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed earlier this month that the Cupertino tech giant would release other devices with mini LED panels. Among these are two new MacBook Pros, which will also feature a fresh form factor design, set for release this year.
