In addition, the franchise dropped a new trailer for Shaman King 2021, giving everyone a glimpse of Asakura fighting the new enemies. By the looks of it, the anime will have the same tournament-style storyline that will give the long-time fans the nostalgic '90s feel.

However, everything will not be the same. It will feature a significant change in animation quality with major improvements compared to before. There will also be new arcs and characters that will be introduced.

AniTrendz added a new character visual for Faust VIII was seen. Although the look is basically the same, there are some improvements applied.

Fans first had a glimpse of Shaman King 2021 in a trailer dropped in September 2020. It was then followed by a full promotional video and key visual in December of the said year.

Aside from the anime, Kodansha also announced its collaboration with comiXology to make the entire manga series into a digital version, which will be available in English. It will feature the world of the Shaman King and its people called Shamans.

Shamans hold a mysterious power that lets them live with gods, spirits, and the dead. Manta Oyamada is about to learn all of these things, along with Asakura, a new transfer student from Izumo and a Shaman in training.

As soon as Shaman King 2021 has been announced, it instantly becomes one of the most anticipated premieres of the year, per Comicbook. After the original 2001 anime needed its original ending when it bid its goodbye, it remains to be seen what the reboot has to offer.
