Fans will not see Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 138 this week after it suddenly goes on a break. The drastic release's cancellation confuses fans, but the creator, Gege Akutami, has an acceptable reason for it.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 138 is supposed to be out this coming Sunday, February 7, but it looks like readers have to wait for another seven days before they see it. Its MangaPlus release date has been changed to a later date all of a sudden that surprises many.
It has been the usual practice that if there will be a manga break, it will be announced at the end of every chapter that precedes the next one. However, when Chapter 137 dropped, it didn't note anything about the delay, leaving the readers unaware.
Anyhow, according to BlockToro, it is now confirmed that the series is on a break after the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine 10/2021 issue includes an apology page from the editors. They explain the sudden halt has something to do with Akutami's illness and promise the manga will be out next week in WSJ 11/2021 Issue.

So, what will happen in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 138? The preview reveals Itadori will continue hunting cursed spirits in Tokyo. After the previous chapter showed the ending to the Shibuya incident, fans wonder what will happen to the first-year student and Gojo.
The Jujutsu elders sentenced death to Getou and Yaga, while Gojo was exiled from the Jujutsu world. They also appointed the returning Okkotsu to kill Itadori, Epic Dope noted.
It looks like Okkotsu only comes back to fulfill his mission to execute Itadori. As a special grade sorcerer, who holds incredible cursed powers, he can do what he is bid to without the sweat.
As Itadori is now in his vulnerable state, will it be his end in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 138? It remains to be seen if Okkotsu is indeed determined to kill Itadori or is only acting in front of the elders.
He may be surprised that Gojo will do such a thing, so he may fake his rage to satisfy the elders' wishes. It is also unclear if he will agree to the state's decision to execute principal Yaga.
