Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 9 is coming this week on ABC, with the title "In My Life". The past few episodes brought a lot of emotional moments, especially after Andrew DeLuca's (Giacomo Gianniotti) death. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) is, particularly, struggling to cope with everything.
Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 9 will center on Teddy's storyline. She is having a post-traumatic experience after the sudden death of DeLuca. She's blaming herself for what happened to her colleague, given that she's one of the doctors that tried to save him.
In the promo of Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 9, Teddy can be seen not being her usual self. In the wake of DeLuca's death, she isolated herself inside her room and just lay on her bed. She didn't want to go back to the hospital and does not want to communicate with others.
Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) described her as a soldier who returns home after suffering trauma in war. In the clip, he can be heard saying that Teddy hasn't spoken and hasn't eaten. She is in a spot where she's struggling to accept everything and thinks that she's responsible for what happened.
Then, the scene shifted with Teddy in a dream state, where she continues blaming herself for DeLuca's death. The two come face-to-face, with the former asking her late colleague: "What if it's not too late?" She still wanted to save him even though she knows that it's beyond impossible now.
The promo of Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 9 ended with Teddy meeting Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) in her dream. The latter was on her hospital bed and asked her if everything is OK before the scene cuts off. They could have a lot of conversations, albeit in the dream state.
As for Owen, he may try to help Teddy and set their personal issues aside. The relationship of the two has been in question, especially with Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) in the picture. The two were about to get married, but Owen found out that Teddy hooked up with Tom while they're engaged.
Owen has a hard time forgetting this matter and forgiving Teddy. He needs some time to heal the wounds and get past it. But, with her current situation, he'll likely decide not to think about their personal problems and be there for her while she's dealing with the aftermath of DeLuca's death.
Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 9 airs on Thursday, March 25, on ABC.
