Prince William and Prince Harry might not agree on many things these days due to their ongoing rift but they did sign on together to the design of the statue dedicated to their mother, Princess Diana.

According to reports, the two princes have given their approval to the final design of their mother's statue as created by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. They are expecting to see this artwork during the planned unveiling in July 2021 for Princess Diana's 60th birthday.

This means that a reunion between Prince William and Harry at Kensington Palace could be in the works for this special event. However, sources have not yet confirmed if the Duke of Sussex will be able to fly to London from California for this unveiling since he's also expecting the birth of his second child with Meghan Markle in the summer.

The insiders said that the artist worked closely with William and Harry before the latter left for California with Meghan in 2020. The statue's preparations were also managed by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on behalf of the royal brothers. It took more than three years for this statue's planning, which was originally set for unveiling during Diana's 20th death anniversary in 2017.

Meanwhile, Harry said in his interview with Oprah Winfrey that his current relationship with William is about giving each other "space" since they haven't patched things up completely. The Duke of Sussex reiterated that he still loves his brother because they went through many struggles together, especially after losing their mom at such early ages. But right now, Harry is hopeful that time will heal his relationship with William.

According to royal commentator Duncan Larcombe, while William has yet to publicly discuss his feud with Harry, it's likely the hardest thing he's coping with since the death of Princess Diana. Larcombe said that William not only lost his brother but also his best friend.

William and Harry's rift started while the latter was still dating Meghan. Apparently, Harry didn't like William's advice about the Hollywood actress. The two men grew further apart after Harry and Meghan decided to separate from The Royal Foundation and Kensington Palace, both of which were headed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in 2019.

The brothers' relationship further soured when Harry and Meghan decided to step back from their royal roles in 2020. Prince William and Harry parted with heavy hearts despite the queen's intervention during a summit at Sandringham.
