Aside from the questions about Berserk's future, several claims about Kentaro Miura's passing surround the mangaka's surprising demise. Some say the manga artist might be living an unhealthy lifestyle that might have led to his departure.

Miura's closest pals are now coming to the forefront to clear his name and address the assumptions about his death. One of his assistants even breaks his silence and reveals the truth about the Berserk creator's health.

Chief assistant Kurosaki addressed Miura's demise on Twitter, via Comicbook, correcting the misunderstanding to clear the artist's reputation. He said people mistakenly assumed he lived a terrible life due to some "end-of-the-volume comments" made more than 20 years ago.

For the past 15 years, he cleared Miura was living a "pretty balanced lifestyle," following a good diet and regularly exercising. He was in the best shape of his health and did not even have any illnesses.

To recall, ever since Miura's passing was announced, rumors about his health started to emerge. Add to that the often break and hiatus Berserk had when he was still alive; it only furthered his alleged unhealthy lifestyle.

However, as Miura himself earlier said he was looking after his health to finish the manga series, these rumors were certainly not true. Sadly, he did not have the chance to complete Gut's story.

So, what will happen to the series? According to HITC, the future of the manga remains uncertain. There is no sign yet that the manga will continue, though there are hopes that his assistant will resume Miura's work.

In a cryptic tweet, the long-time assistant said he would do his best, though he did not reveal what he was referring to. Would it be the continuation of Berserk?

The manga just completed its current arc, the Elf Island, Fantasia Arc, and was supposed to tell the following tale. Rumors had it Miura already wrote a draft for the next chapter and how the series would end in general, but no one had confirmed this claim yet.

So, fans should take only these assumptions with a grain of salt. Young Animal Comics' editorial department announced Miura's death due to acute aortic dissection in a tweet earlier this month.

He was known as the creator of one of the most famous manga series in the world, Berserk, which started in 1989 and inspired many other manga stories. It currently has eight volumes and the latest will be out this summer, the Dark Horse deluxe edition, per Kotaku.
