Queen Elizabeth had a hilarious reaction after meeting her first grandchild, Prince William, to Prince Charles. An unearthed report revealed the Monarch made a crude joke about the future king when he was born.

Princess Diana gave birth to Prince William on Jun 21, 1982. Like other first-time fathers, Prince Charles was excited about his firstborn's arrival and told the news to his cousin, Patricia Mountbatten.

He said the birth of his "small son" was a tremendous experience and he was thankful he was on Princess Diana's bedside all the while. He added it was rewarding to see a "small creature" who belonged to them, although he seemed to "belong to everyone else as well."

So, what does it mean? According to Express, royal correspondent Camilla Tominey said Queen Elizabeth had a funny reaction toward her grandson's birth.

Allegedly, the Queen was thankful that he didn't have the ears of his father. Despite that, this reaction was not surprising at all, knowing the royals had "jovial responses" after every child's birth.

In fact, Prince Philip said his newborn son, Prince Charles, looked like a "plum pudding" in the 2014 Netflix documentary "The Royals." The Prince of Wales himself had a strange reaction when Prince Harry was born.

Princess Diana's 1992 biography, "Diana: Her True Story," in collaboration with royal author Andrew Morton, revealed Prince Williams seemed surprised that the Duke of Sussex was a boy. He even reacted to his red hair that made the People's Princess "close off.'

Meanwhile, despite Queen Elizabeth's reaction toward Prince William's look, the two, reportedly, have a close bond. The List noted their strong relationship could be seen in every royal event they attend, as they seem to enjoy each other's company.

However, as Kate Middleton's husband is the second in line to the throne, the Queen has to balance her role as a grandmother and mentor to her grandson.

Queen Elizabeth is also preparing Prince William to become an effective king someday after Prince Charles. There is a big responsibility lying in front of him if the time comes and she wants him to be ready for it.

In the 2016 ITV documentary "Our Queen at 90," the Duke of Cambridge gave everyone a glimpse of his relationship with his grandmother. At the time, he described her as the "figurehead," who had incredible stability above him when he was growing up.

This helped him to "explore, understand and slightly carved his own path. With everything that Queen Elizabeth had done for him, Prince William appreciated and valued the protection.
