Fans are still waiting for Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga series, "Chainsaw Man" Part 2. As an anime version will soon drop, will the much-awaited continuation of Denji's story still happen?

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed in December 2020 that "Chainsaw Man" Part 2 would see the light of the day to continue the story that ended in Chapter 96. However, instead of this anticipated part, Fujimoto announced a new project instead.

Comicbook noted the work on the franchise is still ongoing, but the mangaka has decided to do other side projects. So, he now drops major information on the new series he is currently working on, titled "17-21."

The fan page MangaMoguraRE revealed the new anthology would have four stories and each would be called "Niwa ni wa Niwa Niwatori ga Ita," "Sasaki-un ga Judan to Meta," "Koi was Moumoku" and "Shikaku." However, no one knows if these will only be the shorts in the series or there will be more.

Talking about this new project, Fujimoto revealed he wrote "17-21" during the early years of his life. But, this will not only be the anthology that will be part of Fujimoto's new work.

The manga creator also has a second collection coming up in November. Though its official title is yet to be unveiled, Fujimoto said it would follow his work through age 26 and fans would see how his style had changed over time.

The publication noted these anthologies would reveal how he came with the idea to write Denji's story in "Chainsaw Man." Would this lead to the release of "Chainsaw Man" Part 2?

Meanwhile, Twitter user ABD revealed the big anime releases happening in 2022. Aside from the final season of "Attack on Titan," there would also be huge titles, like "Jujutsu Kaisen," "Black Clover," "Blue Lock" and more.

Of course, this includes "My Hero Academia" Season 6 and the new "Dragon Ball Super" movie, "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero." As fans have also been waiting for the anime adaptation of Denji's story, it will also be finally out next year.

If that is not yet enough, there will also be a novel adaptation of Fujimoto's brainchild, called "Chainsaw Man: Buddy Stories," per Anime News Network. Sakaku Hishikawa writes the novel, which will be the first in the franchise.

It will feature three new stories that are not part of the manga, carrying a theme of "buddies." However, it will also feature Power and Denji, along with Kishibe and Quanxi during the partner era and Himeno and aki when they first met. "Chainsaw Man" novel will be out on Nov. 4, while there are no words about "Chainsaw Man" Part 2.
