Despite a standoff over President Joe Biden's budget bill, Democrats in Congress are united in their desire to prolong a robust stimulus payments program through 2022.

Some families are still receiving child tax credit payments on a monthly basis. However, the release of stimulus checks to average Americans has stalled.

Still, there's a chance that in 2022, babies will get stimulus checks.

"Specifically, if you are a new parent, your bank account might get another $1,400 payment," according to Nasdaq.com. "Unfortunately, it will probably be a while until you can get your hands on it.'

According to Moneywise, babies born in 2021 may be eligible for additional Biden funds.

Americans will be eligible for payouts of up to $1,400 from the third batch of stimulus checks, which was distributed in March 2021.

To get the stimulus payments, eligible new parents must notify the IRS that they had a baby (or infants) when they submit their 2021 taxes in 2022.

The income criteria remain at $150,000 for married couples and $75,000 for singles.

These parents may also be eligible for the extended child tax credit program, which allows families to receive monthly paychecks.

Nasdaq.com says parents should not expect the new stimulus cheque until 2022, after they have filed their 2021 tax returns. Even though parents aren't required to file a tax return, this will be necessary if they don't want to lose the $1,400 check.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to push through a draft of Biden's $1.75 trillion budget plan this week. What the final version will look like is anyone's guess at this point.

Based on a White House statement on Oct. 28, the current budget package included "the most transformative investment in children and caregiving in generations."

One of its defining features is the extension of the expanded child tax credit, which will benefit more than 35 million families.

The expanded child tax credit's monthly "family stimulus checks" expire at the end of this year. Many parents are begging the government to keep providing assistance.

If enacted, Biden's plan would provide monthly payments to the parents of nearly 90% of American children in 2022.
