Kim Jong-kook has finally cleared the suspicions about his muscular body after revealing the results of his doping test. On his YouTube channel, the 45-year-old star shared the process he had been through and the legal action he planned to take.
Kim Jong-kook titled his vlog "Doping test results...and an update on the legal action." Here, he came out negative of external steroid injection.
He chose Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory (SMRTL), which was based in the U.S., to take the test, AllKpop noted. It was conducted in the facility's Korean branch, which officially got the approval of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The singer gave everyone a glimpse of how the doping test was done in the clip. He took off his top and bottom and even showed how he collected his urine sample to show everything was done transparently.
After revealing the negative result, Kim Jong-kook admitted it was a "long and painful time for him." Though he did not mention anything about Greg Doucette, the Canadian YouTuber who claimed his body was unnatural, he said he felt it was in vain when he went through all the tests. Still, it was a proper closure for everyone who believed in him.
In addition, netizens lauded the actor for not taking any legal action and aimed to handle it in a "positive manner" instead. He revealed he planned to use about 30 million KRW to file legal cases against malicious commenters, but he would now spend it on something more hopeful and the ones who needed it more.
"So I decided to donate the money," Kim Jong-kook continued. At the end of the day, he wanted to "turn this issue into a good cause."
For starters, this issue began when Doucette accused Kim Jong-kook's body was unnatural, per Manila Bulletin. He even said the former member of the duo Turbo was on "hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to enhance his body."
Doucette was found guilty of smuggling and distributing anabolic steroids in Canada in 2014. He said that if he had bet $1 million or his life on the line with a gun pointed at his head to reveal if Kim Jong-kook's body was natural or not, he would say it was enhanced.
He questioned how the "Running Man" host kept looking better every year, making him believe that he was on HRT. Though Kim Jong-kook might not be taking high, abusive dosage, he found it unlikely that someone who was fond of going to the gym and making dramatic progress was not taking anything. So to prove Doucette wrong, Kim Jong-kook took the test and proved him and everyone he was clean.
