According to various reports, Truth Social, former US President Donald Trump's Twitter-like social media site, has launched on the App Store.

The launch corroborates a remark from a verified account associated with Truth Social's chief product officer "Billy B," in which he advised people to note February 21 on their calendars.

The program, which allows users to publish a message or "truth," reintroduces Donald Trump to popular social media sites following his suspension.

As of December, Truth Social was open to "invited visitors only," with approximately 500 beta testers subsequently obtaining access to the network.

Certain users reported having difficulty enrolling for an account or being added to a waitlist via an automated message.

When some users attempt to input their birthdate, email address, or phone number, they receive an error message. The page has been updated to reflect recent developments.

Trump was suspended from Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube in the aftermath of his supporters' Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, after he was accused of posting comments inciting violence.

Currently, none of the younger companies, which include Twitter competitors Gettr and Parler, as well as video site Rumble, have come close to matching the popularity of their more established equivalents.

Prior to the removal of a test version of Truth Social last autumn, the website's code revealed that it ran on a mostly unmodified version of the open-source program Mastodon.

The Software Freedom Conservancy charged The Trump Media and Technology Group of breaching Mastodon's AGPLv3 license by failing to share the platform's source code in October.

On February 15, Donald Jr., Trump's eldest son, tweeted a screenshot of his father's verified Truth Social account, @realDonaldTrump, depicting a "truth" (a post) with the following text: "Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!"

Late last week, a New York Times report indicated that the app's release date had been put back to March, possibly in response to the Securities and Exchange Commission's inquiry into Trump's SPAC arrangement to publicize TMTG.

According to the tweets obtained by Reuters, Truth Social will adhere to the Twitter formula. Individuals can utilize the network to share "truths," the platform's version of tweets, and can reshare things on their timeline to increase their reach.
