"Black Clover" is currently on a three-month hiatus before it finally begins its final arc. But as the previous storyline featured epic fights and the strongest villains, fans wondered why no one died from the line of the protagonists.
This question gave birth to a theory that the clock tower in the Spade Kingdom was stuck and winding backward. Knowing the final villain, Astaroth, is a Time Devil, highlighting the clock several times might mean he had rewound time to erase the deaths in "Black Clover."
Twitter user @actual_imouto made a graphic that showed the clock tower only showing select times of 6:36 when the raid started, followed by 6:45 at certain moments and back again at 6:36. It was also featured during the fight with Lucifero and the clock could be seen at 7:27 several times and only moved at 7:28 in Chapter 331 when the Raid arc ended.
Though it appeared as a small detail, Comicbook noted something sinister might be behind it. Knowing Astaroth is the Time Devil, he might have planned out something about the fights.
Julius Novachrono was housing Lucius Zogratis, the fourth missing Zogratis sibling within him. His devil was also revealed as the devil of time and the fight against Lucifero was all his plan.
However, it might also be the opposite, as the clock theory claimed each of the looks at the clock indicated an actual failure of Asta and others to win. Asta and the rest might have died during the fight against Lucifero, but Astaroth might have saved him by moving the time until they finally won in "Black Clover."
Elsewhere, the Zorgratis family had been known as the main villain of the Spade Kingdom arc. Dante was Lucifero's devil host, while Vanica was that of Magicula and Zenon was to Beelzebub.
However, Chapter 331 revealed they had a missing brother, Lucius, hiding inside Julius, per GameRant. This might be the reason why Julius possessed incredible strength and it might even grow in the series' continuation.
In the final scene, Adrammelech holds Lucifero's heart in his hands and reveals the whole situation is happening according to Lucius' plan. This just proved something bad is about to occur at the Clover Kingdom.
In addition, when the news about the Wizard King's real identity starts to spread, Asta's path to becoming the Wizard King himself will become more "treacherous," knowing all the devil hosts are linked to "less-than-ideal situations."
The people of Clover Kingdom may also have no intention to appoint another devil host as the next Wizard King. So, whatever happens, one thing is for sure, the Magic Knights are about to face their greatest opponent when "Black Clover" returns in August.
