Song Hye Kyo is now getting rave reviews for her stellar acting in the Netflix K-drama "The Glory." As this is the first time fans saw the dark side of her acting, Song Joong Ki's ex-wife revealed how she managed to do this project.

"The Glory" has effortlessly captivated the viewers' attention with its revenge plot-a first from Song Hye Kyo. Far from her rom-com dramas, the queen of the K-drama is no longer the damsel in distress, as she can now save herself without a prince's help.

In an interview with Netflix Korea, via Koreaboo, the 41-year-old revealed she received a lot of reactions after fans saw the series' trailer. Thinking it was the first time they would see this part of her, she decided to make it better.

So despite her already outstanding performance, she worked harder to perfectly play the role of Moon Dong Eun. She didn't want to monitor her acting, as doing so might put her in the box if she saw herself in character.

She didn't know how far she should go when she did one of "The Glory" most pivotal scenes, facing her bullies again when they were all grown up in the gym where all the bullying started.

Insider added that Song Hye Kyo was often told to "act even crazier" at the time until she reached a level of acting that director Ahn Gil Ho found ideal. The "Now, We are Breaking Up" star admitted she wasn't sure what Ahn was expecting, but the script demanded her to act like a "crazy b****."

After filming one take of the clapping scene, Ahn asked her to "act even crazier," keeping her acting's intensity high. But even before the show started filming, writer Kim Eun Sook revealed the actress was already working hard to get into her character.

Song Hye Kyo decided to lose weight to look emaciated and small. She intended never to look pretty, but to get the viewers' sympathy with her poor appearance, considering the violence her character had been through.

So when they did the scene where Dong Eun showed all the burns on her body, Kim Eun couldn't help but tear up at how wonderful it was made.

Fans had already seen the first part of Song Hye Kyo's stellar acting in "The Glory" when it dropped on Netflix on December 30. The second set of episodes will be out sometime in March.
