Alexi Lubomirski, the acclaimed royal photographer, shared his experience capturing intimate moments between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their 2017 engagement photo session. The enchanting images were taken at Frogmore House in Windsor, Berkshire, and Lubomirski recalled the couple's intense connection in an interview with the Daily Telegraph, stating, "Every time they looked at each other I almost felt awkward. I kept thinking, 'This is so intimate, should I even be here for this?"

Lubomirski spent hours photographing the couple, admitting that their presence was "very intoxicating." Despite this, the 47-year-old British photographer enjoyed the process, professing, "I'm cheesy and I love taking pictures of people in love."

Lubomirski was also tasked with capturing the couple's wedding in May 2018, an event he described as one of the most stressful moments in his career. The challenge of including extended family members, pageboys, and bridesmaids in the photos proved difficult, as did managing Prince Philip's aversion to being photographed.

In order to keep the young children engaged, Lubomirski made a promise to Queen Elizabeth II that the photos would be completed within five minutes. He eventually persuaded the children to participate by offering them Smarties.

Lubomirski also mentioned that Prince Harry has a keen interest in photography, often capturing impressive black and white images. The photographer provided the duke with tips and app recommendations for enhancing his pictures.

Lubomirski's admiration for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is well-documented. In a September 2020 Instagram post celebrating Prince Harry's 36th birthday, Lubomirski shared a loving photo of the couple, expressing his gratitude for being entrusted to document their connection.

In a 2018 interview with E! News, Lubomirski described the engagement photoshoot as "one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love." He encouraged the couple to be themselves during the session.

Lubomirski admitted that he had never met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before the engagement photoshoot. The opportunity arose after one of Meghan's friends saw on Instagram that Lubomirski was in England during their engagement announcement. The friend recommended the photographer to the duchess, paving the way for a memorable collaboration.
