Twice's Jihyo is all set for her solo debut, showcasing both her dazzling and minimalist charms.
Jihyo is gearing up to release her first mini-album "ZONE" and its title track "Killin' Me Good" on August 18, marking her debut as Twice's second solo artist.
Starting from August 7, JYP Entertainment (hereafter JYP) has sequentially unveiled teaser images on their official SNS channels that highlight Jihyo's multi-dimensional allure. On August 10 at midnight, two final concept photos were released, capturing significant attention.
In the released photos, Jihyo exudes a unique aura distinct from the previously revealed concept photos. One captures the essence of summer with a refreshing and luxurious blue, adorned with floral patterns to epitomize glamour. In contrast, another photo features Jihyo in a silky dress, exuding a simple yet natural vibe, presenting a juxtaposed energy.
The soon-to-be-released mini album "ZONE" encapsulates the meaning of "Jihyo's (Z) First (ONE)" and "Jihyo's (Z) Complete Single (ONE) Work". The concept photos also focus on showcasing Jihyo's inherent beauty in its purest form. Lyrics from the preview of 'Killin' Me Good' read, "Every ten seconds I'm reminded, I'm surprised at my own reflection, You're killin' me, killin' me good / You're making me feel something new, You're making me feel so brand new." These lyrics accentuate Jihyo's ever-present charm and uniqueness. Through the four types of concept photos, Jihyo has captured the attention of fans both domestically and internationally, amplifying curiosity and anticipation for "ZYO's ZONE".
Her debut single, 'Killin' Me Good', amplifies Jihyo's rich and powerful vocal tones. The track features lyrics penned by JYP's head producer, Park Jin-young, and boasts a rhythmic and groovy sound, completed with the collaborative efforts of renowned songwriters Melanie Fontana, Lindgren, and Marcus Lomax from Monsters and Strangerz.
Having consistently contributed to Twice's album tracks and garnered acclaim from fans worldwide, Jihyo promises to unleash her musical prowess accumulated over the years in this solo debut. In addition to the title track, the album will feature "Talkin' About It (Feat. 24kGoldn)", "Closer", "Wishing On You", "Don't Wanna Go Back (Duet with Heize)", "Room", and 'Nightmare', with Jihyo directly participating in the creation of all six tracks.
