V has encapsulated his serene and free-spirited taste in his first solo album. He emphasized that instead of the intense and dazzling image he's known for, he has infused his unique leisureliness into his debut solo.

BTS's V's first solo album 'Layover' was released at 1 pm (KST) on September 8. Through a video released by Big Hit Music, V began his album introduction by saying, "I'm not typically greedy, but I was for this album. Let's all dive into the new charm of V."

He stated, "'Layover' reflects 100% of my taste. If I were to describe the process of this solo album in one phrase, it would be 'finding myself'. You might discover a new side of me that you might think, 'V has this side too?'." He continued, "I've always been flamboyant on stage, but I've made efforts to show my true colors by stripping away the glitz." He also mentioned, "I've put everything I love and excel at into this album."

'Layover' is a masterpiece helmed by ADOR's representative and chief producer, Min Hee-jin, who oversaw the music, choreography, design, and promotion of the album. V proudly shared, "This was my first time working with Min Hee-jin. Even though it was our first collaboration, we had great synergy." He added, "I wanted to infuse my emotions into the solo album. I thought of collaborating with someone who could amplify my sensibilities. That's when I thought of producer Min Hee-jin and reached out to her. The result is a fantastic album."

Regarding the album title 'Layover', V explained, "A 'layover' refers to a short stay at a transit point. It's a time to rest and reflect on whether you're on the right path or if you've been rushing too much, before reaching your final destination." He emphasized, "My first solo album 'Layover' is filled with genuine and sincere emotions."

The album 'Layover' includes the title track 'Slow Dancing', the pre-released 'Rainy Days', 'Love Me Again', 'Blue', 'For Us', and a bonus track 'Slow Dancing (Piano Version)'. V explained, "The overall genre is based on Pop R&B. Each song has a different charm, incorporating elements of jazz and gospel." He added, "I hope everyone has a free and comfortable time while listening to 'Slow Dancing'. I chose 'Slow Dancing' as the title track because I thought ARMY would love it the most."

All songs in the album, excluding the bonus track, have accompanying music videos. V shared, "This is my first time having such an experience, and it will be a special memory. I felt a sense of accomplishment when I saw the completed music videos." He added, "I always imagine visuals when making music. I'm glad I could realize that this time. Having a music video for each song will make it easier for ARMY to imagine. I feel very accomplished showing these visuals to ARMY."

V concluded, "This is the most comfortable and confident album I've made. I believe its resonance will surely reach everyone." He also hinted, "I've prepared special stages to show the new V, so please look forward to various upcoming activities."
