McDonald's is set to reintroduce a fan-favorite sandwich for a limited time, much to the delight of its loyal customers. The fast-food giant announced the return of the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese, which will be available starting July 10. This sandwich, which first appeared on McDonald's menus in 2022, is making a comeback due to popular demand.
The Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese features a quarter-pound beef patty, two slices of American cheese, three half-strips of thick-cut Applewood Smoked bacon, three fresh Roma tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and a special smoky BLT sauce, all served on a toasted sesame seed bun. According to McDonald's, the BLT sauce is seasoned with paprika, parsley, and black pepper, providing a "sweet and tangy, savory and garlicky sauce that has a lingering smokiness."
In addition to the standard Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese, McDonald's will also offer a Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder for those with a bigger appetite. This limited-time offering is part of McDonald's strategy to keep its menu fresh and exciting for its customers.
The announcement of the sandwich's return comes alongside the introduction of new items to McDonald's menu. Starting July 10, customers can also enjoy the new Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry. This dessert features vanilla soft serve blended with real banana and strawberry clusters, along with chocolatey, crunchy pieces of Kit Kat wafer bites. This new McFlurry flavor follows the successful launch of the Grandma McFlurry earlier this year, which combined delicious syrup and chopped candy pieces mixed into vanilla soft serve.
Adding to the excitement, McDonald's will also launch a Special Grade Garlic Sauce on July 9. Inspired by the supernatural anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," this sauce will only be available for a limited time and exclusively through the McDonald's App. The sauce draws inspiration from McDonald's Japan's Black Garlic Sauce and offers a unique blend of garlic and soy sauce with a slight tangy sweetness. The Special Grade Garlic Sauce will feature eight unique lid designs based on characters from the anime, appealing to both foodies and anime fans alike.
McDonald's is aware that its customers are seeking more value in their meals, especially as inflation continues to push prices higher. In response, the company has introduced various promotions and deals to provide affordable options. For instance, McDonald's recently revealed details of its limited-time $5 Meal Deal, which aims to offer diners a more budget-friendly option amidst rising food costs. A recent study found that McDonald's had the fifth-highest average meal price at $7.57, reflecting a 22% increase from 2022. The most expensive fast food option was Five Guys, with an average meal price of $20.84.
