People close to the program claimed that the producers of “The Morning Show” are starting to oppose Billy Crudup's two Emmy victories because they would prefer to see stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon receive statues.

Billy, 56, won an Emmy in 2020 and this year for his role in the famous Apple TV+ show as cunning news division chief Cory Ellison.

"Jennifer is happy for him and so is Reese, but of course people are talking about the fact that they're the stars and should be the ones winning," a tipper complained to National Enquirer.

"The show is supposed to be about women in a high-pressure, challenging workplace, yet the one contributor who actually converts his nominations into wins is Billy," the source grumbled.

The program received sixteen Emmy nominations. Reese, 48, who plays reporter turned anchor Bradley Jackson, and Jennifer, 55, who plays newswoman Alex Levy, were both nominated for the prestigious Outstanding Lead Actress award, but “Shogun” actress Anna Sawai won, as per ELLE.

According to the mole, Billy was the standout winner among the Emmy winners for hair and makeup on “The Morning Show,” which has been difficult for the executive producers and stars to accept, TODAY.com reported.

"The Emmys were a happy event for the ‘Morning Show’ team because of the sheer number of nominations they got," the insider said. "Now they are firmly in the prestige drama conversation going forward and people take the show seriously, and that's huge for Reese and Jennifer.”

"Still, it's been frustrating for Billy to be the one who scores the touchdown every time while Reese and Jennifer are stuck cheering on the sidelines. It's NOT what they set out to do when they first put this show together," the source added.

The informant points out that Jennifer "has been down this road before," referencing her long-awaited Emmy for “Friends”, which she finally won in 2002 after eight seasons and five nominations, even though Jennifer's representative disputes the actress is upset about the Emmys rejection.

The informant said Jennifer deserves praise for her patience during the entire awards process; she received her first Emmy for Friends after a long wait, and she is cognizant of the fact that award organizations may be sluggish at times. Having said that, the insider projected that Jennifer and Reese will likely keep creating it till they win Emmys for this show.
