In light of the fact that 2024 was the year when both King Charles and Princess Kate were diagnosed with cancer just a few months apart from one another, it is safe to conclude that it has been one of the most difficult years for Prince William and Princess Kate in recent history.
According to Mirror, this had a negative impact on the three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but all three of these young royals were a tremendous source of comfort and support for their mother throughout her chemotherapy treatment and subsequent road to recovery.
With the princess having confirmed that her treatment has been finished, 2025 appears to be the beginning of a welcome change to normalcy for the royal family. One royal expert believes that it may be the year that Prince William and Princess Kate "spoil" their children in recognition of their resilience throughout a very difficult year.
Royal author Ingrid Seward spoke with Hello!, saying, "Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit, because it's very frightening for children when their parents are that ill, so I think they will be up for a few treats this year. I think William and Kate might take the children skiing during the Easter holidays and will probably be planning a big summer holiday, because as far as we know they didn't go anywhere last year."
The author added, "Like many famous parents, they are cautious about exposing the children to too much scrutiny in this digital age. They know they must produce the children at certain times, but I think they very much keep them under wraps the rest of the time."
After describing their life as "far more ordinary" than that of their predecessors, Ingrid went on to emphasize how the children all get along well with each other due to their close ages and how they have been "bound by the situation they're in and they're all in it together." This is because Prince William and Princess Kate have chosen to take a more hands-on role with parenting, without the use of nannies and staff.
Despite the fact that there has been no formal announcement regarding what the year 2025 will hold for Princess Kate, the fact that she just appeared at her Christmas Carol event, which was titled Together at Christmas, is a promising indication of what is to come.
It was the first time she had participated in a high-profile event of this magnitude since it was confirmed that her treatment had been completed. Not long after that, she was seen participating in the Sandringham walk to church on Christmas Day, which is an annual tradition. This was yet another indication that she looked forward to returning to her normal routine.
