Former Vice President Kamala Harris was spotted at Craig's in West Hollywood on Saturday night, dining with Hollywood insiders and sparking renewed speculation about her next steps in politics and potential ties to the entertainment industry after her election loss to Donald Trump.
On Saturday night, a large group of powerful producers, including former vice president Kamala Harris, her husband Doug Emhoff, and other famous faces dined at Craig's, a popular restaurant in West Hollywood.
Despite this, a second source indicated that Harris was merely having dinner with friends.
It was a table full with producer and director types; certainly entertainment development, one source told Page Six, adding that the pair was with some Hollywood executives.
According to an eyewitness who saw Harris, 60, at the Hollywood watering establishment, the ex-vice president was seated in one of the six booths facing the wall.
The insider went on to say that her spouse was present, and that they appeared to be among other couples, but that no paparazzi were at the front.
Even though there didn't appear to be a lot of protection, the source added that Harris and Emhoff, both of whom are 60 years old, were at the dinner for more than two hours. There wasn't a stampede of people or anything. The number of individuals in her booth was quite high. She appeared content.
This gathering had nothing to do with new projects, according to another source familiar with the veep; she was only out for the evening with pals.
After losing against Donald Trump, Harris's future has been the subject of much conjecture. It was previously revealed that Emhoff viewed an Upper West Side luxury condo priced at $20,000 per month; however, she has now returned to her home state of California.
Harris once said, "It is not my nature to go quietly into the night. So, don't worry about that." She may seek the office of governor of California in the upcoming election.
However, there is a recent pattern of prominent politicians and public personalities signing deals in Hollywood after stepping down from their positions.
The Obamas inked a multi-year deal with Netflix, while Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly struck a $100 million deal with the streaming service. A $40 million contract was made by Melania Trump with Amazon.
Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Elton John, Cher, Kanye West, and Johnny Depp, along with reality TV regulars like Luann de Lesseps, Taylor Armstrong, Kyle Richards, and Jax Taylor, have been known to frequent Craig's since it opened in 2011.
Per the LA Times, Harris and Emhoff went on their first date at the restaurant.
