Prince Harry is reportedly "terrified" that his wife, Meghan Markle, could expose details of their private life in her upcoming podcast series, as the Duchess of Sussex prepares to relaunch her public persona with a new media venture. Markle's podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, is scheduled to debut April 8 with a focus on "girl talk," business challenges, and candid discussions about personal relationships.
Sources close to the couple told RadarOnline.com that the Duke of Sussex is deeply apprehensive that Markle's on-air discussions may cross personal boundaries. "Harry is understandably apprehensive about the possibility of their private moments being discussed," one insider said. "In fact, he's quivering with fear about the possibility. The guy is terrified. It is just not the done thing for royals to talk about intimate details of their lives."
The eight-episode series, produced in collaboration with Lemonada Media, will feature female entrepreneurs and celebrities discussing their path to success, including vulnerable moments and lifestyle insights. "We're diving into the highs, and the lows, and the kind of advice that turns small ideas into billion-dollar businesses," Markle says in the preview. "And of course, we're going to get some girl talk!"
Behind the scenes, however, the podcast is also viewed as a strategic vehicle to support Markle's commercial ambitions. Insiders say she is preparing to expand her lifestyle brand, As Ever, beyond traditional wellness products and into more provocative offerings, including lingerie and sex toys-mirroring Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop empire.
"She doesn't want to restrict herself to just selling pancake mix and jars of jelly," one source told RadarOnline.com. "She wants the full range of wellness and lifestyle products like sex toys, lingerie, etc., which are sold via Goop."
According to that insider, the podcast will serve as a "springboard" to connect with adult lifestyle consumers. "She can start talking about intimate aspects of her life and those of her guests, and then listeners can link to her As Ever brand to shop off the back of their listening experience," the source added.
Publicity surrounding the show has already reignited scrutiny of the couple's brand-building tactics. Markle was recently criticized for including her children in promotional material for fashion partnerships on Instagram. A former Buckingham Palace official reportedly labeled the strategy "tacky" and "desperate."
Rumors of strain in the Sussex marriage have also circulated among acquaintances in California. One source claimed that during her marriage to Harry, Markle was encouraged by some friends to "act single," which may have added tension to the relationship. According to the insider, Prince Harry remains wary of further revelations that may emerge in Markle's pursuit of a broader lifestyle platform.
The podcast rollout follows mounting questions about the couple's post-royal media ventures. Their Netflix deal has faced critical headwinds, and Markle reportedly rejected a potential reboot of her breakout show Suits, even as her culinary series with the streaming giant is said to be facing uncertain prospects.
Despite growing speculation, Markle remains publicly optimistic. "I'm Meghan, and this is Confessions of a Female Founder," she says in the podcast trailer. "A show where I chat with female entrepreneurs and friends about the sleepless nights, the lessons learned, and the laser focus that got them to where they are today."
