Hunter Biden and Candace Owens stunned political audiences this week after appearing together in a podcast interview that shifted from years of public insults to unexpected agreement over addiction, media attacks and the death of Charlie Kirk.
The interview, recorded in Owens' home studio and released Thursday, quickly went viral because of the unlikely pairing. Owens spent years publicly mocking Hunter Biden's addiction struggles, while Biden has long been a central target of conservative media attacks.
During the discussion, Owens criticized Trump allies over what she described as a lack of urgency surrounding Kirk's assassination investigation.
"We still don't know what happened to Charlie Kirk. There's zero interest," Owens said, adding that she felt betrayed by figures including Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Kash Patel and J.D. Vance.
"The fact that they have zero interest and they're just accepting the narrative... I'm just done with politics," she said.
Hunter Biden backed Owens during the exchange.
"By the way, for real. Exactly. It is It is good vs. evil. They have torn the mask off of this," he responded.
The pair also discussed Hunter Biden's past drug addiction and the controversy surrounding cocaine found at the White House in 2023. Biden denied the drugs were his and said he has been sober since June 1, 2019.
"The truth of the matter is I was a crackhead," Biden said. "I say that not to shock people."
He added: "They tore off all my clothes, tarred and feathered me and put me in the center of town, and said 'look at him.' I survived."
Owens unexpectedly apologized for her past attacks.
"I'm sorry I contributed to that," she said. "I did partake in the inhumanity."
The interview also touched on Hunter Biden's laptop controversy, which he described not as Russian propaganda but as "a hard drive of stolen and hacked material."
At another point, Owens accused the Trump movement of abandoning Kirk despite his role in helping elect many conservative leaders.
"These are the people that Charlie Kirk made," Hunter Biden agreed.
Owens concluded by saying she "cannot forgive Trump, the Trump family, for what they have done - or what they have not done - for Charlie."
