HBO's hit TV series "Game of Thrones" ended its season 7 in 2017, leaving its fans parched and thirsty for more tales from George R.R. Martin's world. This year is even worse for the fandom as the network opted to schedule the release of the show's finale season in 2019. However, the "GOT drought" might soon come to an end as droplets of information are now slowly trickling in.
In the latest developments, a report from Digital Spy confirms that filming for "Game of Thrones" season 8 is officially over and is now entering the post-production stage.
Try as they might, the network and the show couldn't put a stop to the eventual leaks of information about the upcoming final instalment.
Several media outlets are already spreading the news that may lead to confirm the inclusion of the most-awaited Cleganebowl in Season 8.
For the uninitiated, the Cleganebowl refers to the popular theory that the two brothers in the show - Sandor "The Hound" Clegane and the older Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane - will engage in a final battle that would see the end of both or either's life.
The two shared a mutual hatred for each other and it looks like it has grown deeper as ever.
Hafthór Björnsson, who plays the role of the infamous "The Mountain," took to his Instagram inadvertently spewing out a few golden nuggets about the clash.
In an Instagram Q&A, the Icelandic strongman was asked by about his favorite GOT scene, to which he replied: "It happens in season 8...so I can't speak about it."
Ironically, his attempt to keep mum about the issue gave the much needed confirmation about the purported Cleganebowl.
The question now is: who wins?
That remains to be found out.
Meanwhile, the best epic fight scene the Mountain has ever been on is probably in the show's season 4, episode 8 titled, "The Mountain and the Viper." This episode is known for the gut-wrenching scene in which Gregor Clegane kills Pedro Pascal's beloved character, Oberyn Martell, in a trial by combat.
"Game of Thrones" returns to the small screens 2019.
