Many fans were delighted when "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki, finally, announced that he will be staging a fan meeting in September.
Apple Daily reported that the 32-year-old Hallyu star confirmed, in his official fan café earlier this month, that he will be holding a special event on Sept. 1 to personally meet and greet his supporters. Since it is his first fan meeting in two years, many are wondering if Song Hye Kyo will attend to support her husband.
While Song Hye Kyo has yet to respond, many fans are hoping she will make another surprise appearance at the upcoming fan meeting. Two years ago, the South Korean actress made a surprise guest appearance during Song Joong Ki's meet-and-greet event in Chengdu City, China, and shared her first impression about him.
"I was looking forward to meeting him since so many people told me good things about him, and it turned out that he was an even better person than I'd thought," Song Hye Kyo said at the time, as quoted by Soompi. "He's very sincere and thoughtful when filming. I think he's really cool," the "Full House" actress added.
Although in-depth details about the much-anticipated fan meeting event have yet to be revealed, Song Joong Ki is expected to serenade his fans, play games with them and share interesting details about his married life and upcoming projects.
Song Joong Ki, who gained widespread fame across Asia with his role as Captain Yoo Si Jin (also known as Big Boss) in 2016's "Descendants of the Sun," will soon return to the small screen for tvN's "The Chronicles of Aseudal."
In the upcoming tvN series, Song Joong Ki will play Eun Seom, a man who was born in a Blue Stone Village occupied by a nomadic tribe under a prophecy created by the energy of a blue comet. He, later, becomes a conqueror of the ancient city of Asadal, which is the capital of Gojoseon and makes it an empire.
He will star alongside "Fight for My Way" star Kim Ji Won and "A Gentleman's Dignity" star Jang Dong Gun, who will play Tan Ya and Ta Gon, respectively. It is directed by Kim Won-Suk based on a script penned by Park Sang Yeon and Kim Young Hyun.
"The Chronicles of Aseudal" is set to air in the first half of 2019 in South Korea.
