"Autumn in My Heart" star Song Hye Kyo is officially making her way back to the small screen with "Boyfriend" after two years of staying under the radar. With that, here is everything fans need to know about the upcoming melodrama series.

"Boyfriend" (tentative title) follows the daughter of a well-known politician, Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo), who is now a divorcee. She is said to be a cold and ignorant woman whose life turned upside down after meeting Kim Jin Hyeok (Park Bo Gum), an ordinary young man.

The upcoming melodrama is said to be directed by Park Shin Woo, who is behind the hit 2016 and 2014 series "Jealousy Incarnate" and "Angel Eyes." Yoo Young Ah, on the other hand, will pen the script.

Though not much has been revealed about the upcoming melodrama series, several reports are suggesting that it will be entirely pre-produced just like the hit KBS 2TV drama "Descendants of the Sun." It is also eyeing for a December 2018 broadcast on the tvN network.

"Boyfriend" is Park Bo Gum's follow-up drama after starring in the 2016 historical drama "Love in the Moonlight" opposite actress Kim Yoo Jung. In between that and this year's comeback, he embarked on his first fan meeting tour across Asia.

It also marks Song Hye Kyo's first television project since she tied the knot with her "Descendants of the Sun" co-star Song Joong Ki at Youngbingwan Hall in Shilla Hotel on Oct. 31, 2017. The event was attended by their closest family and friends, including actors Park Bo Gum, Yoo Ah In, Park Hyung Sik and Lee Kwang Soo

"[Song] Joong Ki showed me his self, trust, and his manners for a long time. I thought to myself that it would be good to spend the future with him and I was glad that he could feel my true emotions as well," the 36-year-old Hallyu star previously said in a statement obtained by Korea Boo. "That's when I knew that he was the one," she added.

After almost a year since their marriage, many fans cannot seem to wait for the baby announcement. Luckily, the Hallyu actress shed light on the matter during her guest appearance at Omega's store opening in Hong Kong last June. She said that they want to take things slowly and let nature takes its course.
