In a series of photos posted on Instagram, the female pop star showed her fans a rare look at her summer. According to Yahoo!, she can be seen wearing outsized, gold hoop earrings, which seems to resemble a very J.Lo look. The 26-year-old also sports a blue-and-green printed bikini as she joins her friends for a last look at summer on the water.
Gomez has been a victim of people who body-shamed her after a photo of her in a bikini emerged in March. But ever since then, she has been calling these individuals out by posting body-positive messages meant for critics who mocked her figure. These are also the same people who made fun of her scars, which she got from a recent kidney transplant. The latter was meant to help her treat her lupus.
Following the photos mentioned above, the response was more positive than before. One comment says that the "Bad Liar" singer looks "confident and happy in her life." Another comment suggests that she is "so gorgeous." There is even one fan who made a blunt comment, saying: "Justin made a bad choice."
It is a reference to her longtime on-off relationship with Justin Bieber, who recently proposed to a model named Hailey Baldwin. The proposal came just months after his breakup with Gomez.
It has, indeed, been a tumultuous year for the American singer. Apart from her kidney transplant, she also broke up with Weeknd sometime in October. Although she was seen reunited with Bieber, the two eventually called it quits in March.
Everything is looking good for Gomez, though. As Billboard reports, her upcoming album is "done" and is expected to be released soon. Her new music is said to revolve around the many changes she experienced in her personal life.
