It is safe to say that BTS is the only K-pop band to have slowly taken over the world of music. Now, the seven-member South Korean boy band has grabbed yet another record.
BTS is celebrated after staying at the number one spot for the 57th week in a row on Billboard's Social 50 chart in the United States. According to BBC, this is a huge achievement for the boys. That is because it means that the group has surpassed the previous record holder Justin Bieber.
The Billboard Social 50, by essence, is a popularity chart that ranks the most active music artists on the world's leading social networking sites. It uses an algorithm that uses an artist's weekly inclusion of friends, fans, and followers, depending on the network. Also, it includes figures about an artist's page views and weekly song plays.
The band's popularity seems to rapidly grow each day. This is most especially with the upcoming release of a new album titled "Love Yourself: Answer" on August 24. BTS also has an upcoming tour which is already planned later on this year.
In related news, BTS made another history, only this time the milestone is shared alongside female K-pop group BLACKPINK. In a report from Soompi, both managed to grab the title of being the first K-pop groups to have ever received the Diamond Creator Awards from YouTube. This was made possible after reaching 10 million subscribers on their respective channels.
BTS immediately posted photos of their award on Twitter, saying, "Everyone! Because BANGTANTV has surpassed 10 million subscribers, we've received a Diamond button from YouTube. Thank you so much. In a later post, the words "YouTube Diamond" can be read.

BLACKPINK, on the other hand, received a total of 10,739,217 YouTube subscribers. It is reportedly the highest number achieved by any single K-pop group, though it excludes agency-wide channels.
