PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) 1.0 has finally arrived on the Xbox One console after months of being in Xbox Game Preview program. But what's even more exciting for Xbox players is that PUBG 1.0 will be bringing with it a cool new map as well as some new weapons, vehicle and parachute skin.
New Sanhok Map
PUBG Corp. has a pleasant surprise for all Xbox One gamers. Along with the launching of the PUBG 1.0 on the Microsoft console, the Korean developer is offering something extra - a brand new map called Sanhok. This makes it the third map of the game available to Xbox One players after Erangel and Miramar.
According to the PUBG official site, the Sanhok map is 4km by 4km which could be considered small since both the Erangel and Miramar maps are 8km x 8km. However, the map offers a different set of challenges compared to the two bigger maps.
One of the most distinctive features of the Sanhok map's gameplay is that its weather changes dramatically. And of course, players can throw apples in inside the in-game lobby, in case they get too bored while waiting for the plane. Each player will be given 20 apples, which might not do any damage to other players, but at least one is able to practice some throwing skills before the game starts.
Just a reminder for new gamers, the Redzone in the Sanhok map is smaller than usual and they also last shorter. The Bluezone, on the other hand, has shorter waiting times while longer travel times are longer. The Bluezone is also described as dynamic, which means it will adjust waiting and travel times depending on the number of players.
New Weapons, Vehicle, Parachute Skin
Meanwhile, Xbox One's PUBG 1.0 will also introduce new weapons to the game. The first one is called QBZ, an automatic rifle that can hold 30 rounds (can be extended to 40) and uses 5.56mm ammo. The other one is called QBU that is exclusive to the Sanhok map. It is a DMR that also uses 5.56mm ammo but it only allows 10 round per magazine (can be extended to 20 rounds). Players will also be able to modify their weapon's skin by accessing the weapon skin system UI.
The Rony is a new vehicle that is now available in the game. It is a pickup truck that can hold up to 4 passengers. Being one of the larger vehicles on Sanhok, it is best suited to the map's hilly terrain and can also be used for cover if necessary.
PUBG 1.0 also allows parachute skin customization. The tooltips for weapon attachments have also been upgraded and, if players have some cash to spare, the Bengal Tiger skin is already available in the Store.
PUBG for Xbox one is priced at $30, according to GameSpot. For gamers who want the Sanhok Edition, it will cost them $50.
