There will be a lot of twists and turns in the upcoming "NCIS" Season 16. The promotional image reveals Nicholas Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) staying behind bars. Also, showrunner Frank Cardea teases a brewing relationship.

"NCIS" Season 16 Episode 1 is titled "Destiny's Child." The new season would begin with Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) as the team's acting director as they try to find Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll).

But in the middle of all these, Cardea revealed Torres and Eleanor Bishop's (Emily Wickersham) relationship would start to bloom. "Torres and Bishop sort of... become close," he said, per Celebrity Insider. The two's slow-phase romance would finally move forward in "NCIS" Season 16.

Cardea added everyone is looking forward to Torres and Bishop's relationship to blossom. He even cited "NCIS' history, where "Tiva" team-up took a lot of years before developing. However, it is not yet a sure thing if the tension between the two will be turning into a sweet romance. But as he used the words "glance and hope," it is a big possibility that they will be ending up together.

"NCIS" Season 6's new promotional image caused a huge surprise to every fan. Valderrama shared the snap on his Instagram account and hinted big trouble came their way. The snap showed Torres and Palmer behind bars.

As the two are part of "NCIS" Season 16's major characters, this caused a big alarm. According to Cinema Blend, NCIS team's two members locked up could mean something terrible happened. But Valderamma's picture seemed to hint it is not a serious problem.

It looked like Torres and Palmer did something naughty in "NCIS" Season 16. With Palmer's sly smile and a paint-stained polo shirt, the two might be involved into in a petty fight. Valderrama's caption to the photo, "I blame Palmer," also implied they got into a small brawl.

The stain on Palmer's shirt seemed to show he got splashed with paint. Torres, on the other hand, also appeared to have a shiner on his left eye. So the publication assumed they got into a paintball war that might have gone wrong.

Meanwhile, with Pauley Perrette's exit, there will be a new cast joining "NCIS" Season 16. Diona Reasonover will be playing the role of forensic scientist Kasie Hines, who is taking Abby Sciuto's position in the team. "NCIS" Season 16 will hit the small screen on September 25 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
