Sad news awaits J-Rod fans. It is alleged that Jennifer Lopez' mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, does not want her daughter to be with former baseball shortstop, Alex Rodriguez, simply because she does not trust him.
In the September 2017 issue of Radar Online, the 49-year-old singer and dancer's mother is allegedly not a big fan of her daughter and Alex Rodriguez' love story. She is reportedly worried about the latter's true intentions towards her daughter.
"She worries about his motives, although she's pleased to see Jennifer smiling again," an unnamed insider told the news outlet. "Lupe adored Marc [Anthony] and spent years clinging to the hope they'd get back together again some time."
The insider went on to say that Guadalupe Rodríguez has been introduced to the 43-year-old retired MLB player several times. Their meeting, however, was extremely awkward and the former allegedly walk away each time thinking that her daughter's new boyfriend does not hold a candle to her ex-husband, singer Marc Anthony.
Despite Guadalupe Rodríguez' protests, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez' relationship is still going strong. The insider added: "Jen's not being swayed and has told her mom - as well as her sisters - that Alex is there to stay, so they'd better get used to him."
Now, exactly one year since the report was published, Gossip Cop has ultimately debunked such claims and added that a longtime friend of the "On the Floor" singer stressed that the narrative is baseless and not true. Guadalupe Rodríguez is very supportive of their relationship.
Also, Alex Rodriguez has finally met the mother of his better half back in April 2017. At the time, they were spotted enjoying a walk on the streets of New York City, laughing in reaction to something the athlete said.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have also spent Thanksgiving together in the Hamptons last 2017 along with Guadalupe Rodríguez and their respective kids - Maximilian David Muñiz and Emme Maribel Muñiz, and Ella Alexander and Natasha Alexander.
